But sometimes God speaks more quietly than that. Not through sound, but through the unfolding of events, through shifts, and through what is happening around us in ways we may not immediately recognise as Him speaking. As Scripture says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1). This means there’s God’s footprints in everything that surrounds us ,even those things that are not tangible and if this is the case what can stop Him from using all His creation to communicate with us??

Recently, I found myself in a space that felt comfortable. Everything was flowing, everything felt settled, and I had no desire to move or shift. Then an opportunity came, one that suggested a shift. But I questioned it, “what is wrong with where I am?” So I let it pass. Not long after, something began to shake the very place I had grown comfortable in. What once felt stable suddenly felt unstable, and I found myself in a quiet panic, trying to hold on to what I knew. In that moment, a thought came, gentle but clear, “remember the opportunity you turned down?” It was not loud and it was not dramatic, but it was enough. I realised then that God had already been speaking, not through a voice, but through timing, through opportunity, and through the unfolding of events. What I had resisted earlier was not random, it was direction, and I thank God that the door of that opportunity had not fully closed.

Sometimes what feels like disruption is actually redirection. When we do not recognise the cues for a shift, God may allow a shaking, not to harm us, but to redirect us. The space I was in had become comfortable, but comfortable with limitations, and I was okay with it. It was a place that served me, but did not stretch me. Everything about it had become a rhythm, something familiar, something I understood from beginning to end. But the opportunity I had turned down, though unfamiliar, was a space of growth, responsibility, and impact, not just for myself, but for others as well. That is often how God moves us, from comfort into calling, and from what is familiar into what requires faith.

Even when things feel uncertain and the ground shifts beneath us, God is intentional. He does not allow anything bad to have the final say over our lives. Everything is worked together for our good. As Scripture says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him” (Romans 8:28). So as long as you are for God, as long as He is at the centre of your life and your decisions, rest assured that even if you are shaken, God will have the final say, and He will work it out for your good.

Doors do not stay open forever. There are seasons, there are timings, and there is a rhythm we are meant to flow in. We pray for alignment, that God will help us recognise the cues when it is time to move. Even in seasons where He is not speaking through dreams or prophecy, may we have the discernment to see the signs and recognise when He is leading us into something new. I am grateful that before the door closed, I was able to recognise the shift, even though I had to be shaken to understand it. In all this, I see that God is intentional, not just about me, but about each of us. He does not let a season pass without giving direction.
May we not miss what God is doing because we are too comfortable to move, too unsure to respond, or not attentive enough to recognise His leading.

Quiet Season https://sheprayz.com/quiet-season/ https://sheprayz.com/quiet-season/#respond Fri, 13 Feb 2026 10:19:04 +0000 https://sheprayz.com/?p=331

There was a season in my life when everything around me seemed to be moving.

Doors were opening for others.

Lives were shifting.

Opportunities were appearing.

Yet mine felt… still.

At first, I questioned it.

Had I missed God?

Was I behind?

Was I doing something wrong?

But over time, a gentler understanding found me:

Not every quiet season is delay.

Some are divine protection.

God is not intimidated by silence the way we are.

Where we see stagnation, He often sees preparation.

David’s life reveals this beautifully.

Long before he wore a crown…

Before he was celebrated…

Even before many knew his name…

He was a shepherd.

In lonely fields, he learned to fight off lions and bears.

He learned responsibility.

He learned courage.

No audience witnessed those victories but they prepared him for the day he would face a giant.

David did not develop bravery in the spotlight.

He developed it where no one was looking.

And when the moment for visibility came, he simply drew from what had already been formed in private.

But here is the invitation many of us must not miss:

A quiet season only becomes powerful when you yield to it.

If you spend it comparing yourself to others, resisting your pace, or waiting passively, you may overlook the very training ground God has placed you in.

Silence is not an invitation to drift.

It is an invitation to build.

Pray deeper.

Grow stronger.

Stretch your capacity.

Let God shape the parts of you that public life will one day lean on.

Looking back now, I see that my quiet season was not empty.

It was intentional.

God was grounding me in ways visibility never could.

Teaching me to stand without external validation.

Forming a steadiness that noise would have interrupted.

So if your life feels slower than you expected…

If you are watching others move ahead…

If your prayers seem to echo without immediate reply…

Do not waste the quiet.

What feels hidden today may be training you for a moment you cannot yet see.

After all, the same shepherd who once fought for sheep…

One day stood unshaken before a giant.

What is formed in stillness does not stay buried forever.

In time… it rises.

Hello world! https://sheprayz.com/hello-world-2/ https://sheprayz.com/hello-world-2/#respond Thu, 01 Jan 2026 20:05:06 +0000 https://sheprayz.com/?p=259 I’ve been sitting with this space for a while before finally pressing publish. Not because I needed everything to be perfect, but because I wanted it to be honest.

This blog is a place to write from real life, from faith lived quietly, questions held gently, and moments that don’t always make sense until they’re brought back to God. Some days that will look like reflections on Scripture. Other days it might be something I read, a conversation that stayed with me, or a moment from work that asked me to pause and look again.

Faith doesn’t only show up in church or in the big, clear moments. It shows up in how we respond, how we wait, how we care for ourselves, and how we learn to notice God in the ordinary. This space exists for those in-between places.

I’m not here to teach a method or offer a formula. I’m here to reflect, to learn out loud, and to make room for grace, for myself, and for anyone who finds themselves here.

If you’re walking with God and figuring things out as you go, you’re welcome here.
This is just the beginning.
